And they lived happily ever after…
If only it was that simple.
Fairy tales end at the wedding because once vows and rings are exchanged, the real work of marriage begins.
It’s beautiful, messy, difficult work that keeps a marriage together. The life you build together is full of peaks and valleys that mark out your journey to building and living your “ever after.”
We’re starting this project because we want to:
Create a community of couples who see the value of fun, healthy relationships.
We’ve spent time with couples who love being married and we’ve spent time with people who haven’t seemed to even really like their spouses. No matter where you are today – we believe you can move toward a healthy marriage. We don’t have all the answers, but we do want to help. It’s easier to work toward a happy marriage when you’re with other couples who are seeking the same thing.
Create a countercultural movement that celebrates rather than denigrates marriage.
From movies and tv shows to the common sentiment that weddings mean the end of fun and freedom, there are loads of negative messages about marriage throughout pop culture today. Enough of that! Love being married? You’re not alone! Our dream for this little project is to create a counter-cultural movement of people who support strong, healthy marriages.
Share our experiences and learn from yours so we can all benefit.
Challenges are unavoidable and we’ve faced our share. From the big things like navigating Lupus, immigration, and debt to dealing with the small stressors of moving (five times!), parenting, and living far from family… there are lessons to be learned through every challenge. We want to share what we’ve learned and we want to learn from you too!
This is our ever after. Our life isn’t perfect, but it’s perfect for us.
We have debt, a sink full of dirty dishes, and the same day-to-day struggles as everyone else. In working through the challenges we’ve faced, big and small, we’ve grown closer together and stronger in our relationship.
We can’t think of a better way to intentionally celebrate our tenth anniversary for this whole year than by dreaming big.
We’re glad you’re with us!
